Match report This was the best result of the season against the best side we have played. The pitch had good covering of grass so Keiron chose to bowl first. The absence of Chris and Matt B, enabled Jake and Jono to share the new ball. Joe Allnutt was quick to attack had 32 before the first bowling change after 10 overs. Ben came on and saw his second ball sail over his head and the boundary. Allnutt tried the same shot next ball and was stumped by some distance. Darmody joined Robson and they added 115 in 27 overs to put the visitors in a commanding position with 12 overs to go and 8 wickets in hand. Robson and Kerr Franklin then added 72 in 8 overs, threatening to put the game beyond their opponents, but Jono burst their bubble with 3 for 6 in 7 balls and Jake dismissed teenager Robson to restrict the visitors to 266.
Tom F went early. Clem and Jack added 34 before the latter departed at 47 (12 overs). Tom B was soon into his stride, but lost Clem at 88 from 22 overs. There followed the most crucial partnership of the season so far. By the time Smithy was dismissed for a rapid 70, 155 had been added in only 22 overs and the hard part of the task had been completed. Three wickets were then lost for 10 runs, causing a mild panic, but BMW and Jono hastened the last rites to win with 15 balls to spare.
