Match report After 4 overs, Matt B had reduced the visitors to 9 for 2, but skipper Jack Paskins was still there. In fact, he was not dismissed until the 47th over when Locks Heath were 233 for 6. His first 50 had taken 86 balls as he repaired the early damage in the company of Jack Levy in a partnership of 127. His second 50 came from only 34 deliveries as he pressed the accelerator and inflicted pain on the home bowlers. The visitors racked up a maximum 7 batting points and set a huge task for the P & S batsmen.
The reply slowly gathered pace and when Smithy took 3 boundaries off Tom Griffiths' first over of leg spin, the score was 65 for 1 off 16 overs. After Clem departed, so did Griffiths with figures of 4-0-34-0 and looked to have been eliminated from the contest, but with the home side on 165 for 3 (35 overs), he was reintroduced and immediately took 3 for 1 in 7 balls. The match had been turned on its head and the writing was on the wall for the home team who never recovered.
