Match report Oh what might have been had we won a crucial toss.

17-3 then became 50-5 and we were in a total mess. The first 25 overs of this innings were the most challenging batting conditions of this incredibly dry summer. The ball swung and seamed and against an attack that relied on this type of assistance It was perfect. Some poor batting in places didn't help but we were fortunate to hang in long enough for what was to be a superb recovery partnership between Ollie kanavan (58) and Mike Berg 49*. Both got themselves in and then accelerated superbly to give us a fighting chance with 180 Plus on the board.

After tea the sun was firmly out and the pitch getting flatter with each passing over. 90-3 we had a shot. But some poor fielding from all concerned and a number of dropped chances off danger man Gary Rodgers ended all hope of a victory. He took us on and it came off but we were poor in the field and could have done more.

Not a great day but with more runs for Ollie and a superb knock from Mike gives us a really positive thought to take into next week. Bring it on.
