Match report A Frustrating Day for a team that contained only 5 players from our victory against Suttoners the week before. With a somewhat depleted attack the skipper opted to have a bowl on a green looking track.

Dan and Harlan took the new ball having both so far enhanced their reputation in the middle overs and both tried gamely in difficult conditions for the bowlers. The track was extremely slow and the half chances on offer didn't go to hand. Enter Mike Patey to get one to rear up off a length to take the out the first opener.

Unfortunately it was some time before Dan Struck again in his second spell. Sathish and Ben both bowled some good balls in there first second team spells but all the bowlers struggled for consistency and with over 40 extras we didn't give poor Ollie the easiest debut behind the stumps. That aside the bowlers really did work hard and Mike and Ben tied down an end superbly to ensure that the final score of 232 was not one we didn't feel we could chase. Ben Jackson especially bowled superbly at the death.

In reply we got off to the worst possible start losing Mike but Sean and Jason rebuild before Dan and Jason carried on putting away the bad balls to good effect. Jason was bowled by a ball that rolled along the ground from outside off and that brought in Ollie who was watchful, looked to score and ran extremely well to put on 50 with Dan. Unfortunately both fell in quick succession and with that, the tail perished trying to keep up with a spiralling scoring rate. We finished on 187 all out and everyone was left feeling we really could have won this game with a bit more luck and a little more control with our bowling.

Keep heads up boys. Its still been a positive start. Quick word for Phil Andrews - Played when feeling like death and gave it all in the field. Really appreciate it mate.
