Match report A dramatic improvement from the previous week, the lads really seemed to enjoy this fixture with a result to reflect this improved attitude. Charlie Corbett elected to take to field which proved to be a successful decision as the opening bowlers, Harrison Whitworth and Charlie Cupples set about a determined Locks Heath top order. Ben Jackson achieved the breakthrough, the rest of the bowlers began mopping up, with Ben Saunders outstanding with 3 wickets for a miserly 11 runs - well done. The bowlers were well supported by the rest of the lads in the field, Harry Gadd setting the example with tiger-like fielding and James Boss taking a fine catch on the boundary.
Set a target of 92, the opening pair of Charlie Corbett and Harry Gadd soon gathered momentum taking quick singles until Harry mistimed a hook shot to be caught out. Charlie Cupple's arrival to the crease added impetus to the run rate and with some fine big hits to and over the boundary, the pair soon finished off the innings in style with Charlie Corbett hitting a massive 6 into the car park to reach his half century.
A pleasing improvement by the lads, not only in their performance of attacking cricket, but playing with greater confidence and growing sense of teamwork. This performance puts the team in a far better position to face the sterner tests to come - well done.
