"Wow - that is the best all round team performance I have witnessed for some time - superb bowling and fielding won us this match after some super batting performances which set us up for a 27 run victory against a very good side who are expected to do well this season. Mums and dads please pat your sons on the back - they did P&S proud tonight - well done all of you!!!

Batting first Dan and Ollie got us off to a very solid start doing exactly as we asked. Dan supporting Ollie well as Ollie played some great technically attacking shots. Will then joined Ollie at the crease and both batsmen batted very impressively until Ollie retired after a superb innings. Peter looked very composed as he and Will continued to build our innings, Peter hammering a super front foot drive for four at the longest boundary before being bowled for 13.

We did get slowed down by some tight bowling and the opposition managed to keep an impressive Will off strike for some time before Will agonisingly got out with two balls to go after playing some great shots for a valuable 19.

Burridge were feeling confident they could chase down the 90 they needed to win. However, they hadn't counted on what was going to happen next ............. our bowling was frankly brilliant and the straightest I have ever seen each boy bowl - Robbie, Amir, Stewart, Theo, Peter all stepped up to the mark and bowled superbly well alongside the more experienced bowlers of Henry, Will, Ollie, Dan and George (who took 3 wickets). Our bowlers were ably supported by Russell who volunteered to keep wicket, and did his team mates proud. There was some very good fielding - in particular Stewart, Robbie and Amir who were very focussed and Theo (who was a magnet for the ball - must be the field placing)!

Overall this was a great all round team performance and it will take some beating boys - but I hope you show you can continue your remarkable levels of improvement in your next match - well done!
