Match report We were taught a lesson today by a strong side.
Their Boundrey Count was 15 - ours 7
Their wickets lost were 5 - ours 9
Their extras bowled were 33 - ours 42.
We started very well with skipper Fin hitting the stumps with the first ball of the match (his second consecutive first ball wicket). William too took a wicket first ball finding the back of the batsmans bat on the way to Oscars gloves. Well done to Oscar as our keeper today. Will's second wicket was more orthodox with a well directed slower ball. Suni continued to take wickets, the first thanks to an excellent catch from Henry. Despite our efforts they posted a very challenging total of 300+.
Despite brave, straight batting from Peter, Oscar and Will and dogged determination from the rest we were left asking final pair Fin and Moni to make up 70 runs. While Moni particularly swashbuckled his way to our top score of the day some confused running ensured we never got close.
We need to find ways of scoring runs safely and particularly running with more confidence and judgement.
