Match report In our last run out before the new year we were beaten by a very tidy Fareham side who batted with discipline, running well and hitting the back wall when the right ball presented itself. Nevertheless we didn't do too much wrong although had our throwing been a more acurate and our wide count less we could have been chasing a lower total. The highlights of the fielding were Robs topdraw, one handed, C&B off the roof and Smudges stumping from a cracking Varun ball. Jake was the pick of the bowlers but went wicketless.
In the chase "new boy" Fletch got us off well but was unlucky with a roofed catch and Rob continued his good form with the bat. Jake again batting very well was unlucky for a second week running being sold a dummy of a run. Jake, next time try saying NO! (or running faster).
Once the young guns departed with us up with the rate the Home Guard couldn't quite finish the job and despite some great shots from Varun we ended in a heap with an over to go and 30 short.
