The first annual Battle between youthful exuberance and the gnarled old pros took place at the battlefield that is St James'  The young lads spent two hours warming up while the old pros rubbed in linament and drank tea.  Redier and Seanie fell early as the youngsters smelt a shock but then the Class that is Treacle and God took over,  Neil unveiling late cuts and pull shots never before seen and Paul playing himself in before exploding putting the ball into the trees regulalry,  Neil fell for a well made 38 and was replaced by Lawrie Prittipaul.  What a delight to watch him and Paul bat together as the total got higher taking us to 209.  In reply Fletch and Matt B smashed the ball around against the 'quicks' but then fell against the wily old spinners (well maybe just old) Rollie and Retiring Skipper and despite the best efforts of Ollie Zee and Matt Smith the nippers fell 30 short but  were magmanimous in defeat as they realised the best side won
