We very much hope you have enjoyed your cricketing summer so far. While we have a few of matches still to play (2 tomorrow) our formal summer of club cricket is drawing to a close.
Last Training Session is our training session tomorrow evening (Monday 25th July). We look forward to seeing those who can make it there.
But, for those who would like, there are still places on our Summer Camp. Check out the front page of the website HERE and click on the poster link for full details.
Our annual Awards Day, will be on Saturday 10th September (from 9.30 until mid afternoon). We will send fuller details in a few weeks time but for those new to the club, this is when we celebrate our successes over the season and have a bit of inter-club fun with challenges and matches to get everyone involved. The BBQ and refreshments will be well stocked as we hand out memontoes for our players.
Due to our working with Hampshire Cricket to support the Regional Performance Centres and County Age Group squads (in which we have a number of P&S Colts) we have got a couple of tickets to the England vs South Africa T20 International match on Sunday 31st July to Raffle. It is £3 per ticket or 4 for £10. We will be making the draw on Wednesday evening. If you want to take part, we can provide you with a ticket(s) tomorrow at training or email your request by replying to this note and we will make sure you are in the draw. We will advise the winner on Wednesday and arrange to get the tickets to you.
Between now and our Awards Day we will be looking to finalise our winter indoor training arrangements. It is to be confirmed but we expect these to again be on Wednesday evenings at Crookhorn College, running every few weeks from early October until Christmas and after Christmas we will move to a weekly session until we start back outside around Easter '23.
Finally, our mens 1st XI are again making strides in the Southern Premier League T20 Plate competition. Finalists in 2019 and 2020, last year we had a Super Over disappointment in the semi-final. We are in the quarter-finals this time round. If any of you wanted to come and have a look at how we hope to see you playing one day, we'd love to see you at St James' on Sunday 7th August at 3pm. There will be music, refreshments and a great atmosphere I'm sure.
