Locks Heath v Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Under 19's on Sun 14 Aug 2016 at 10am
Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Won 7 wkts

Match report Well, who'd have thought it. It looks like we might have snuck through to quarter finals having chased a club record 201 to win todays outing.
Non-playing (honest) captain Ben "the Claw" Saunders handed over the reigns to Jacko who promptly lost the toss and watched as Harlan knocked off the top of their batting taking two excellent scalps in the 1st over and a 3rd in this second over. Thereafter though we went around the park a little as some streaky but mostly robust hitting saw their no.s 3 & 5 retire. Our next success didn't happen as "the Claw" wasn't playing - but had he have been, he would have enticed an edge the running Harlan would have collected well. The final over started 192 on the board. Harrison's first couple of balls whistled to the boundary but 4 balls later we had them 7 down for no more damage as he castled their last 3 bats.
So, a run over 10 an over then please.
The first 3 overs were relatively calm at a sedate 8 an over, then Gadders stepped on the gas and at the 5 mark we were ahead of the rate. When Harry retired in the 7th Viraat & Bangers kept us there or there abouts before Viraat lost his middle stump. Despite the first ball wicket loss, the over eventually added 14 as Ollie K got cracking. After clipping 3 4s Bangers perished going for the short boundary once too many. Harrison joined the fray and after a couple of sighters dusted off the slog sweep to excellent effect. Ollie fell in the 17th over trying to collect a consecutive maximum but this just bought Boom Boom Wilson to the crease. A fumble reprieved him on 0 but he didn't need asking twice as he helped himself to 4 and 6 in that over. The 19th over started with us needing 19. A couple of singles preceded Harrison depositing the third ball onto the changing room roof. The next ball single allowed him to lean on his bat as George crashed us home with a pair to 6's.
Today's game delivered everything the U19 T20 Blast is designed to deliver. A match producing over 400 runs and was played in an excellent spirit. Well played all.
