Match report A good win in a really good match against an decent Sarisbury side. We snatched victory from the jaws of defeat thanks to an excellent knock from Ryan Way but more of that later.
Winning the toss, skipper for the day, Dan inserted the visitors. Despite some excellent bowling from both GP and Jono they got off to a steady if not fluent start. The first wicket going down with the score on 32 in the 14th over. GP was particlarly unlucky and went for only 21 runs in 10 overs, 12 of which came off his last two when running up the hill started to take its toll! Sam weighed in with a wicket before bowling star Kes D and his buddy JD got amongst them. Fielding was good, the pick of the catches being GP's skyer and KD's C&B. At tea we were confident of chasing down the 173 required.
A confident start by new opening pair JD & Matty Smith saw us fairly race to 37 before Matt feathered a good ball behind. The introduction of their left armer saw two quick LBW decisions go against us and by the time he took a breather after 8 overs he had a further 2 scalps and we were staring down the barrell. Cometh the hour cometh the men. From the start of his knock young Ryan looked solid and with help from a very responsible Kes and swash buckling GP and Jono he saw us home with 5 balls to spare. From 75 for 6 to a win like that is remarkable. Well played all the lower order but particularly Ryan who's excellently paced inning sees him sneak the MOTM award from Kerion.
