DAVO’S DAY IN STROLL IN THE SUN FOR P&S 3RD’S

Havant opted to bat and made a bright start to their innings. Ram got an early breakthrough, but at drinks Havant were 84-1 and perfectly placed to push on to set a challenging total. Karthik and Bergy swung the game in our favour in the second half of the home side’s innings.
The highlights of the session was when Pat took a smart stumping off Bergy to send Whitfield packing for 32. Then from Bergy’s next over Davo pouched a nonchalant catch at long on to see off the big hitting Woodlate for 35.
Karthik was all over the batsman from the other end and he was unfortunate to only pick up the one wicket from his 8 overs. Rueben chipped in with 4 excellent overs and bagged 2 wickets for just 11 runs. Davo bowled a cameo 2 over spell and claimed a wicket to record 1-7. Connor returned to bowl the last over of the innings and bowled Baiju with the final ball. Havant closed on 138-8 from their 40 overs.
Davo and DFS opened our innings and batted superbly. They were in total control and cruised to a 100 partnership in the 20th over, in which time Davo had reached a brilliant 50. It was a surprise when Davo skied a chance back to Whitfield in the 21st over and he caught and bowled Davo for 53.
That was to be the only success for the beleaguered Havant bowlers and DFS and Mohit leisurely knocked the runs off to complete a comfortable run chase in just 27 overs. DFS made an elegant 47 not out and Mohit was 9 not out.
We move onto a tough fixture away to Wickham in good form on the back of 3 consecutives victories. Well done lads! Up The Mighty Three’s!! Bring it on!!!
