Match report Not a perfect performance, but a thoroughly deserved win against a side second in the table will hopefully boost confidence for the remaining month of the season. Jack won the toss and saw Chris perish to the third ball of the match. Ollie, restored to his favourite number three position, joined Matt in a partnership worth 91 in 25 overs. This excellent start proved to be the cream of the innings as the next six wickets fell for the addition of 57 runs in 16 overs. At one stage, four consecutive overs each brought a wicket for Fawley. Jono walked in at 148 for 8 with a clear plan. He left the good balls outside the off stump and walloped the duff deliveries through the leg side. When Keiron was caught, 26 had been added for the last two wickets in just four overs. These runs made the target just a shade more difficult.
Jono's good day soon continued. He bowled both openers with his first nine deliveries. Lush and Munir then added 47 in only 7 overs with Jake suffering the most at the hands of Munir. However, Jake could not contain his delight when he had Munir caught behind with what one of the umpires later described as a beautiful delivery. This setback clearly did the home confidence no good, as Lush followed a run later. Jack gambled on bowling both openers for their full quotas in the hope of more wickets. He was rewarded with two more from Jono at low cost, in his best spell of the season. The spinners took over at 60 for 6 and soon wrapped up the innings aided by some good catching and wicket-keeping.
