Match report This was another story of batting collapses, but this time by both teams. Bashley suffered a terrible start. Jake struck with his second and fourth balls, leaving the visitors at 1 for 2. At that point, it looked like the pitch might be unplayable, but that was certainly not the case, as James Turner and Phil Morris compiled a partnership of 70 in 21 overs. This was to be the only substantial union of the match. Bashley’s last eight wickets fell for 54 with more than six overs unused.
In reply, P &S reached 78 for 3 in 23 overs, needing just 48 from 27 overs, but this proved beyond them. The highest partnership of the innings was 25 between Tom and Ollie. Nearly ten overs remained when the last wicket fell.
Bashley took 18 points to P & S’s 5, despite winning by just 4 runs. No other matches in Division 3 were completed, so we remain in ninth place with just next week’s visitors, Lymington II, below us. Bashley are still top of the table.
