Match report Put in to bat on a lively pitch, the visitors were soon in trouble at 11 for Two in the fifth over. Jack then hit 26 off the first twelve balls he faced before being caught in the gully at 45 for 3. Ollie and Tom took the total to 80 before the latter was caught behind. Chris, making his first team debut, soon looked at home and ran well with his fleet-footed partner. Together, they added 116 in 22 overs at which point Ollie was run out in the forty-eighth over. Jono and Jake hit purposefully to bring up the fifth (maximum) batting point. 226 looked a decent effort at the tea interval.
The home side began cautiously. Gates was bowled by Chris in the seventh over. Millar, looking full of runs, suffered the same fate in the 13th over (46 for2). Home captain Richards looked in good form as soon as he hit his first boundary and began to dominate with good support from Young. Their partnership realised 134 runs in 29 overs and before Richards was out, the writing was on the wall for the visitors. The end came very quickly, 48 coming from five overs, with three left unbowled.
