Match report A good result for the lads on a cold, windswept evening at Cockleshell Gardens.
A strong start from Kai Pidgeon hitting a quick 19 was followed by a bit of a lull that was brought to life by a fine stand of 40, that included no boundaries, between Sam Brookes 23 and Jack Till 21 N.O. resulting in a final score of 94 which, considering the conditions, looked like providing the basis for an interesting match.
As the temperature dropped and the wind picked up even more, discipline in the field was essential. But with some sound fielding,including 5 run outs, particularly from Jez Pidgeon, Mark Golledge, Sam Brookes. U.S. were restricted to 81. Although the score included a staggering 43 extras, for a change i will contain my criticism to a minimum, as conditions were diabolical.
Well done lads, and yet again we were congratulated by the opposition for the spirit in which we played and our strong teamwork.
