Match report Havant chose to bat and included first teamers Gorvin and Stuart Ransley. They had progressed comfortably to 29 from the first ten overs when triple disaster struck in the shape of a Chris Turrell hat-trick. Rebuilding was necessary and was supplied by the Ransley brothers who added 129 in thirty overs. After Gareth was dismissed, only 43 more were added in 9.4 overs at a cost of five wickets.
Tom and Matt opened with a partnership of 48, ended in the eleventh over by Matt’s dismissal. Tom followed at 73. Ollie and Jack took the score on to 108 from 28 overs before Ollie was caught behind. Lawrie and Jack were both caught at 120 and the visitors must have fancied their chances at this point, but Jake and Rob saw the team home with an unbeaten partnership of 86 and clinched 23 points.
This win was especially welcome as both Fawley and Lymington II won against teams above us in the table. Gosport were thrashed at Fair Oak and are now bottom of the league.
