Match report Asked to field, we watched their openers put together a tidy and energetic opening stand. Both of whom retired with little fuss. However, with the Malik brothers both rattling the timbers to see off 3 & 4, we had our noses in front. Their young number 5 worked away aggressively and took Freddie for a six. However, our skipper soon had revenge as he collected a caught and bowled next ball. By the time Freddie's calm back hand collected out last bowling point to run out number 6 we were facing a middling target of 97 to win.
Tristan and Freddie looked equally as assured as their openers did and retired gracefully. While we lost Mo to a shot he'll hope not to repeat and Josh to a bit of over excited running (good to have his energy in the field back though.) Alex is becoming our finisher and did so with an over and a bit to spare. It was a much less hair raising affair than last time out!
Well done folks. We've reached Christmas with only the one defeat so while it will be tricky to challenge for the title, we certainly aren't out of it yet. Have a restful month or so off and come back firing for a tilt at it.
