Match report Another mammoth score set us on the way. Jack and Umar took little time to retire peppering the back wall. Harrison and Tom mixed running with boundaries. When Tom's collection of 4s saw him retire, Ryan added his brand of positive running to the innings before Harrison retired shortly after taking a maximum. Before getting a good ball to see him bowled, Finlay cracked a four and left Ryan to become our 5th retiree (following his maiden indoor six). With big guns Jack and Umar in place again for the last three balls of the innings we disappointingly saw a couple of rejected 3s but did end in style with a 4.
With the ball we bowled straight and reapped the rewards. Bowled was the the preferred mode of dismissal as Jack twice, Umar once and Ryan once rattled the timbers. Ryan's great evening included that very rare beast, an indoor maiden, and a direct hit run out to earn our 5th bowling point.
So 3 games gone we are unbeaten having racked up plenty of runs and lost only 2 wickets in total. Stiff challenges await, not least league leaders Hambledon next time out, but we know we can compete so onwards and upwards.
