Match report In the end despite perhaps having a few too few runs on the board we took a number of scalps with us and for a while the game was in the balance.
After flashing a 4 through the covers, Tristan C continued his poor run of luck when a direct hit saw him marginally late over the line. Thereafter though Tristan N and Joel worked the bowling well with Tristan looking particularly fluent. After Joel's patience ran out to see him bowled, Tristan retired leaving Mo and Harrison to dig in. The return of their two best bowlers dried up the rate and Mo rather prodded a c&b back to the big quick. That left time for Stewart to get off the mark well with a cut and see us close on 109.
With the ball Mo was quickly into the wickets bowling one opener. The other and the number 3 looked good finding the boundary pretty regularly. The introduction of Harrison however saw both lads perish as they fed Tristan C's good hands at cover. In between the two, Joel's quicker ball did for number 4. When Joel and Arthur combined to make the most of a running mix up they were 5 down still with 30+ to get and we were in with a shout. Unfortunately for us their later bats came in swinging and connected well which, with the odd nervy moment, hurried them to the win. We competed well and our first win can only be just around the corner.
