Match report The development side continued their fine first season with a comfortable win at Privett Park.

After losing the toss (again), P&S were unsurprisingly asked to bowl on a dry wicket. The opening pair started slowly but securely until Scott looped a simple catch up to Sean off Mani's bowling. Veteran Whitlington came in and the combined ages at the crease were over 120, and it showed as the runs dried up, with Mani and Chis giving little away. The Chairman's first 4 overs were maidens and his final figures of 9-6-9-1 strangled the Gosport innings. However it wasn't until Mo removed the stubborn Whitlington that we started to make some inroads. Mani got one to grip and rip back to bowl Cairns before the same fate befell Reji and Redpath. Mani had his fifer when Giles caught Bryant at deep mid-on before Chis got his wicket in the 42nd over, and Gosport had been restricted to just 136, with only a patient 62 from veteran Fred Selman giving the score any respectablility.

The chase started at pace as Bangers crashed 3 4's before being bowled off his pads. At the other end, Gary carried on where he left off last week, looking full of confidence, and when he was joined by Giles the pair kept us ticking along without risk. Giles was well bowled having a big swing as we neared our target, as was Mani, but Mo and Gaz saw us home without further loss with 9 overs to spare.

The win sees us move up to 4th in the table before we head to rock-bottom Portchester next week.
