Match report We were missing both Ollie and Nick today, so welcomed new P and S recruit Tristan Nay to our side, and Joel Eastment played up an age group, giving us a young team with 3 U14s and an U13, but it would be great match experience for the two new players to U16.
Petersield won the toss and chose to bat, which would give us a rare chase when we batted.
Missing their main aggressive bat Petersfield were careful and found it hard to score off our bowling, but it meant that we werent taking wickets. Our bowling and fielding remained tight but there was still no wickets until Joels 1st ball in U16s claimed him a wicket as their no 2 tried to retire with a 6 and hit Dans hands instead. We kept a tight reign on the scoring and gave ourselves 101 to win.
Missing our usual No 2 and 3, everyone shuffled up a couple of places and understanderbly the new opening partnership wasn't as fluent as we usually are, but both Dan and Harlan went on to retire and Freddie hurried us home with almost 3 overs to spare.
A good win when we were missing two of our main players, the two new players played well and will no doubt go on to do P and S proud in future indoor U16 seasons.
