Match report We're pleased to report another win under our belt.
Being put in, Harlan & extras got us off to a flying start. Once H had retired Ollie and Nick looked in control until the first clothed a back wall hit and the other was bowled. They were the last wickets to fall as Dan and Freddie saw us to the close with a beautifully struck 6 each, some confident glides and clips for 3 - plus a few "exciting" nearly runs! A good job done closing on 156.
Dan opened the bowling and within 3 balls had sent back their opener (with the help of Freddie's reflexes)and No.3 with a pin point Yorker. Although Nos. 2 and 4 rebuilt steadily they never really got away and were held in check particularly by Freddie's 3 overs - he only had 5 scoring shots off him and one of those was a 6. On another night that might have been enough to grab "man of the match" but Dan returned to see off the opener by bowling full, straight and quickly to end with the headline 3-10. Our last success came with a flicked run out - that practice is worth it folks. Tristan should also get a worthy mention as we again saw no buys and, although our quicks sprayed a few wides and no balls, we rarely heard the tell-tale thump of the ball hitting the wall.
While we didn't manage to bowl them out, 22 points was a good nights work.
