Match report While this top of the table clash never quite reached the hi-octane heights we might have hoped, we felt we were always slightly ahead in the game.
Winning the toss we chose to bat as ever and although we lost Harlan early, Nick and Ollie both made it back to the hutch. Dan added urgency in running but lost Freddie and Tristan fairly quickly. Ollie returned and they closed things out to post (believe it or not) our second highest score in our 4 matches. While our batting hasn't really fired this term our bowling has always been on the money.
Their senior opener put in a controlled performance and, once he got going, the number 3 retired confidently too. However, all the time our bowlers, particularly Nick and Freddie, were forcing up the required rate. Although we only collected a couple of wickets, both for Dan, by the time we were into the last couple of overs were pretty much home.
Without quite yet putting in the complete performance we know we are capable of, we find ourselves the only unbeaten side at Christmas. So a happy Christmas to all our readers as we look forward to even better performances in the new year.
