Match report Winning the toss was the first objective overcome. Clem and Smithy put together an opening partnership of 138 in 16 overs which remarkably included 46 extras. This base provided a platform for the carnage to come. The second major partnership, between Jack and Matt B, comprised 107 in just 14 overs. Jack and Tom then added 52 in 6 overs. Jack's fifty had taken 42 balls, his hundred 83 and his 150 took 102 deliveries. He and Ben added an unbeaten 90 in seven overs of havoc. Teenagers Darney and Bound emerged with credit from a chastening experience.
Totton, fielding nine teenagers, made an excellent start, seeing off the opening bowlers and compiling 72 at four an over, but once the first wicket fell, the decline was swift. Keiron took a hat-trick spread over two overs and Ben followed his recent highest score with his best bowling figures at this level. The ten wickets fell for 43 in 12 overs. Maximum points were secured and the news that Alton II had lost at Ventnor and that Purbrook had missed two batting points was a bonus.
