Match report For the fourth time in five games, the opposition won the toss and batted first in humid conditions with very light rain falling. Walker was first to go, steering Matt to gully at 19. Stogdon's belligerent innings ended at 49 in Jono's second over. That was the end of the wickets for nearly an hour and a half as Spencer and Niemand added 90 in 26 overs. Spencer's attempts to score faster were futile and he was caught behind off a short ball from Jono. Niemand was looking dangerous, but at 141 he was caught on the long-on boundary in the 41st over. Ropley's innings declined thereafter. They mustered only 34 more from the last nine overs as both Jono (who was on a hat-trick) and Jake produced their best figures of the season.
Matt S and Clem opened with 42 in 12 overs at which point Smithy succumbed playing the sweep shot for the second week running. Clem followed eight runs later. This united Jack and Matt B and marked the high point of Ropley's bowling effort. They were taken apart in the next 21 overs as an unbeaten partnership of 127 got the home side to victory with 17 overs unused.
The only real downside was that Rob and Tom didn't get a bat once more.
