Match report Well, it's been a number of years since I've written up two losses in consecutive games for this side but we certainly seem to have lost our mojo for the moment.
It all started OK as Ollie and new opening partner, Dan, ticked things over well (with the odd "exciting" moment). At the halfway stage we were going at around 11 an over. However, once Ollie had retired we had lots of "exciting" moments bringing 5 run outs! As well as Havant bowled (only 21 wides)we really only had ourselves to blame. Ollie's return for the last couple of overs upped the rate again but he perished off the penultimate ball with a decent strike caught off the tubing on the back wall. This left us once again short of the maximum batting points.
Despite offering far to many extras, with the ball we were in control at half way (48 - 2). A deserved wicket for Freddie, helped by Joe's calm catching and a backhand flicked run out from Ollie picked up points. However, after a couple of good sets from Nick, in the home straight with the game ours to lose our radar and heads went and they batted well to see us deservedly beaten.
So another one chalked up to experience and here's hoping for an improved outing vs Gosport next time.
