Match report P and S U15s were back in action tonight at Havant Park, they won the toss and chose to bat. Ollie and Harry opened and set up the innings with a fine opening stand, both finding the boundary regularly. Ollie contributed an important 14 runs before he was bowled but Harry pushed on and soon retired for a classy 36 on a night when no-one else scored more than 17 for either team. John was bowled, Harlan took on the wrong fielder trying for a quick single, Dan T was bowled and we were having a bit of a wobble. Joe and Tom then had a great partnership, both finding the boundary and running well before they both perished, but both had contributed important runs. Henry and Sonny both then hit well to push us up to 141 off our 20 overs.
With a decent score on the board a couple of early wickets would see us in control, Dan T obliged in the very first over and Harry in the second. Harry then went on to claim two more in quick time. Harry then shuffled the bowling pack, Ollie bowled a tidy three over spell and John bowled two miserly overs. Joe once again showed his great versatility with two overs of seam and claimed two wickets. Henry and Mani both joined in with two wickets of their own.
So a strong win on a night when all batters apart from Captain Harry struggled a bit. Once again our strength in depth was evident with runs contributed from different players, and the wickets were shared around the bowlers.
