Match report A young P and S which contained six U14s began their U17 season with a home game against a strong looking Purbrook team which contained P and S old boys Jonty and Charlie Peach.
P and S batted first and Ollie K was immediatley into his stride taking three boundaries off the first over, he maintained the pace and had 27 to his name by the time he was bowled. Dimash was hitting out too and scored 20 himself before he was bowled. Joe rode his luck early on but then hit some very powerful boundaries, Harlan fell early going big too. Once Joe retired Jez, Jack and Jacob saw us up to a very solid 145 off our 20 overs.

Dan T produced an excellent early spell cleaning up the opener, and the Peach twins were struggling to get going, but once they did they both retired with some familiar looking shots. Jack R was bowling well and his excellent spin claimed two wickets, Purbrook were on the rate but running out of bats. Jacob claimed a wicket and the game was getting tight, and turning our way. Purbrook needed 20 off the last 2 and the returning Dan T and Jez saw us home holding their nerve under pressure. Jez taking a wicket with the final ball off the game thanks to a fine catch by Joe.
An excellent win for the young side.
