Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Won by 57 runs

Match report We lost the toss and were put into bat on a wicket which favoured the bowlers. Their opening bowlers made life difficult for our openers. Rob W and Bergy played some good shots and helped us recover from some very tight early overs. Mark and Simon added further momentum to the innings with a partnership of 83 taking us to 121 for 4 off 35 overs. Sam and Will looked to play shots against the returning opening bowlers and both were bowled from clever deliveries. Will hitting shot of the match (in their skippers and umpires opinions!) with a cover drive for four.
Enter Karthik and Samwise who accelerated the innings with strong hitting and running, adding 25 runs in 3 overs. Connor and Ben bowled late on hitting out for the cause, we finished on a robust 163 all out on the last ball.

Connor and Samwise bowled some very good balls in their opening spell, both beating the bat on numerous occassions. Connor got the break through at 27 for 1 with one of two great catches from Tom. The change of bowlers with Karthik and Bergy brought further success with Karthik taking a 4for and Bergy bowling their danger man in a very tight spell.
Well done to Ben Sully, who bowled his best spell for the club taking a well deserved wicket and to Will, making his debut in mens league cricket, who took a wicket with some good bowling - courtesy of one of three catches from Karthik - well done Karthik. Well done to Sam "one ball Richards", taking the final wicket with his first ball giving us a victory by 57 runs. A good team performance where everyone contributed to the win.
