Match report Another fine win, set up by an excellent bowling performance. An early missed chance did little to dent our progress as Bergy and particularly Connor had the openers under the cosh. Connor swinging the ball with control castled both openers before Bergy picked up their no.3 with a smart C&B. First change James kept the pressure on but it was the introduction of Harlan that really got us in the box seat. At the end of his 4th over he had 3 for 0 in an excellent display of swing bowling and was a whisker away from a hat-trick. Bowling the first over after drinks saw his figures "ruined" as they took 4 off it! At the other end Asif was the quickest bowler on show and he too kept an economy rate of just 1 for his 1 wicket. The innings was closed out by our youngest player (it's Dan's 13th birthday tomorrow). His first wicket came with the help of Phil (Jonty) Andrews safe hands, the second accounted for their skipper with a swinger that did him round his legs and things were finished off as Ollie whipped off the bails for a tidy stumping.
With just 46 to chase we started steadily respecting good balls. After Mark perished to a 1st slip snare Ben expanded his game pulling the first 4 of the match with us needing 12 to win. At 3, Phil played positively and scampered well before clipping the winning runs with the days second boundary just after Ben has fallen to a cracking catch. All in all a good days work with the youngsters again to the fore.
