Match report After last weeks win we were down to earth with a defeat to an impressive Sarisbury outfit. After winning the toss and batting it was a tale of poor shot selection and poor running as we managed to get dismissed 14 times! Dan, Ben & Alex played sensibly and were the only 3 who we're not out.
Alex smashed a lovely pull shot for 4 and both Robbie and Tristram also found the boundary. The innings was summed up by our big guns Henry & Harry who cashed five 4s including a near 6 from Harry but also contrived to get out 5 times effectively losing all the runs scored in boundaries. Our total of 240 looked a little low.
Harry donned the 'keeping gloves and did a good job and the real plus of the evening was our bowling & fielding. Less wides than last week and good use of the long barrier we are improving every week. Aquib and. Marcus were particularly miserly with their bowling and it's good to see Amir develop a constant delivery. Dan took a good catch off Henry, injuring himself in the process but his replacement, a Saribury sub, showed great sportsmanship and took a fine running catch off Marcus's bowling. A good caught and bowled on the back of some fast bowling fromHenry at the death saw us grabs 3rd wicket.
So Sarisbury finished on 302, a win by 62 runs having lost only 3 wickets in the process. Great fielding and bowling but next week let's make the other team work for our wickets!
