Match report Another nail biter with P&S on top.
Put into bat Oscar & Fin saw off the quick openers for the loss of only one wicket, running really well for byes and Oscar flicking an early four down leg side. Amir and Dan kept the ball out well but they had difficulty picking the gaps in the field. Ollie and Moni pushed us on without either really getting going. Henry played with the staightest of bats and was unlucky to be out to an excellent caught and bowled. Will and Suni rounded things off very well against the quicks again and were unlucky to see Suni run out after falling over mid track. With a little more thought about shot selection and more confident running we might have set a better total. However, our bowling and fielding was as good as we've managed yet. Fin opened up with a thunderbolt bowled first ball and a wicket maiden. Dan too got in on the act with a wicket maiden and only conceeded a run with a last ball no-ball. The mid-innings hero though was Kyle. A first ball bowled and two tidy catches from Moni saw him pick up 3 wickets. His tight bowling also helped Henry and Ollie work a great run out. Suni was the third of the lads to take a wicket first ball and like Dan ended with the excellent figures only going for 2 runs for their 1 wicket. With the last pair at the wicket it got very tense and we seemed to switch off a bit in Wills first over as he was unlucky to conceed a couple of boundries. In the end though Fin saw us home hitting the stumps twice more. A late flurrish and some excitable fielding took it close but P&S made it home by 3 runs!
