Match report A hot July night where conditions heavily influenced the result, but not as anticipated. Batting first we could not cope with bowling where the ball was swinging as though it was an overcast morning or staying two inches off the ground. Patience, which is not the team's virtue was needed with everyone being bowled. Dependable Kai gave a solid start with 23 but apart from a clubbing 16 from Jack and a late flurry of 16 from Ryan no one bothered the scorers> Ironically, when we took the field and the sun went down the ball stopped swinging and conditions improved, not helped by short bowling from most of our players resulting in a win at a canter for Portsmouth by 9 wickets.
