Match report With both teams under strength, the likely outcome was unclear at the start, especially when the home team were 31 for none off 17 balls with Seb looking in terrific form. However, a collapse ensued and Charlie Peach joined his brother with the board showing 50 for 5. Jonty retired following a composed innings, so David, running and calling well, helped Charlie to take the score on to 98 for 6. Jez helped add another dozen.
Hambledon opened with two of their big guns, but at 17 for 3, they had both perished in the first 3 overs. The Hambledon innings never really recovered, although Franks and Gwyther added 34 for the 8th wicket. The twins bowled the last 4 overs for only seven runs to seal the visitors' fate and condemn them to their first defeat of the season.
