Match report On a cold, windy night this was a disappointing start to the season. Batting first, we started reasonably well with a bright 21 from Kai Pidgeon but then got bogged down until Jack Till clubbed a brisk 27 from 15 balls before being bogged down again scoring only 36 off the last 7 overs with wickets in hand. Even so, 100 seemed a reasonable score to defend in what would be fading light. However, this was not to be the case with a combination of poor fielding and indifferent fielding resulting in a 4 wicket defeat. The ploy of batting first seemed to backfire with a number of the lads complaining that they found it hard to pick up the ball in the poor light. (What about the batsmen?) All in all the old problems of poor fielding and conceding 26 extras did not help the cause.But,chins up lads and here's to better things to come.
